What is a Single, Double, or Triple Plot Headstone?

A headstone can come in many shapes and sizes, but it all comes down to the sizing of plot the family has selected from the cemetery.

The plot determines how much room we have to work with when creating the monument.

Commonly it goes as the following, one plot per deceased.

That means if you have one plot then one person will be able to be buried there. One person will be engraved on the stone. This is referenced to as a “Single

A double plot headstone referred to as a “double” allows the family a side by side burial for the deceased. Choosing a double plot monument is a very loving and honorable decision to commemorate the loss of two close loved ones. The double is generally selected for a couple I.e. Husband and Wife, but is commonly used for any two close family members.

A triple plot headstone referred to as a “triple” allows the family a side by side by side burial for the deceased.
